Papa Doug Gets Serious
Doug Manchester has now officially requested to withdraw his application to redevelop the Naval Broadway Complex site. However it has less to do with a change of heart, and more to do with playing hardball, as he's now saying the application process is not needed for him to proceed. The redevelopment of this prime real estate could have a boost affect for downtown, and at the same time present damaging impacts to waterfront properties depending on what goes up on the site. It looks like Electra's guaranteed views have an asterisk.

He should withdraw plans entirely and start over. This has been criticized by expert urban planners and architects from all over. Surely we can do better on downtown's front porch!
